Understanding the Problem
Making investing less intimidating
For many people, investing feels overwhelming — filled with jargon, complexity, and fear of making mistakes. During discovery interviews, I found that beginners don’t lack motivation, they lack clarity.
Users wanted to understand: “What happens if I invest $100 a month?” — but most tools skipped straight to charts, without context.
The goal of Growly was to answer this exact question: How much could I grow my money over time — in simple, visual terms?

Designing a friendly finance tool
Turning numbers into motivation
I designed an interface where users can play with numbers and immediately see the outcome — no signup required. The experience starts with one question: “How much can you invest each month?”
Using a simple slider, users see a forecasted growth curve over time, reinforced with visual milestones (e.g. “You’ll hit $10K in 3 years”).
The UI is clean, with soft colors and no unnecessary clutter. Micro-interactions guide the user, making finance feel less cold and more human.
I also designed onboarding and educational tooltips that gently explain concepts like compound interest — keeping users informed without overwhelming them.
